UPSC SCRA Eligibility Criteria: The Special Class Railway Apprentice or the UPSC SCRA examination conduct by the Union Public Service Commission to select eligible candidates for admission into training courses in mechanical engineering. The candidates who with success complete the training then place as Grade ‘A’ Railway Officers within the Indian Railways.

This examination is held once every year, according to the availability of vacancies within the Indian Railways. There is no mention of the tentative date on that the UPSC SCRA 2023 Examination may within the year 2023. It expects to be within the month of Jan for the year 2023.

SCRA 2023 Eligibility Criteria:

Union Public Service Commission conducts the Special class Railway Apprentices’ Examination to select candidates for the Mechanical Department of Indian Railways. The SCRA exam eligibility details has given below.

1. Nationality:
A Candidate should be either
i. A citizen of India, or
ii. A subject of Nepal, or
iii. A subject of Bhutan, or
iv. A Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 01 January , 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
(v). a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakisthan, Burma, Sri Lanka and East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawim Zaire and Ethiopia or Vietnam with the intention of for good setting in India. Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) and (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the govt. of India.

2. Age:
candidate should have attained the age of seventeen years and should not have attained the age of twenty one years as on 01-01-2015 i.e he/she should are born not earlier than 02-01-1994 and not later than 01-01-1998.

3. Age Relaxations:
(a)The Age relaxable for SC/ST candidates five years
(b)Age relaxable for OBC candidates three years
(c)Age relaxable for three years just in case of defence services personnel disabled in operations during hostilities with any foreign country or disturbed area.
(d) Five years Age relaxable for Ex-service men together with commissioned officers and ECOs/SSCOs who have completed an initial period of a assignment of five years military service .(As the date given in advt)
(e) Five years age relaxable within the case of ECOs /SSCOs who have completed an initial amount of assignment of five years of military service.(As the date given in advt).
(f) Five years age relaxable if a candidate had ordinarily been domiciled within the state of Jammu during the period from the 01-01-1980 to 31-12-1989.

4. Educational Qualifications:
(i)The candidate should have passed within the 1st or second division in the intermediate or an equivalent examination of a recognised university or board approved by the govt. of India with mathematics and a minimum of one among the subjects Physics and Chemistry as subjects of the examination.
Graduates with mathematics and a minimum of one among the topics Physics and Chemistry as their degree subjects may also apply.
(or)
(ii)The candidate should have passed within the 1st or second division within the higher secondary(12 years)examination beneath 10+2 pattern of school education with mathematics and a minimum of one of the topic Physics and Chemistry as subjects of the examination.
(or)
(iii)The candidates should passed the first year examination under the 3 years degree course from the recognised university or the first examination of the three years diploma course in Rural Service of the National Council for Rural higher education or the third year Examination for promotion to the fourth year of the four year B.A./B.Sc.(Evening College)Course of the Madras University with mathematics and at least one of the topics Physics and Chemistry as subjects of the examination provided that before joining the degree/ diploma course he/she passed the Higher Secondary examination or the Pre-University or equivalent examination within the first or second division.
(or)
(iv)The candidates should have passed within the first or second division within the pre-engineering examination from the recognised university.
(v)The candidates should have passed within the first or second division the pre-professional or Pre-Technological Examination of the recognised university with arithmetic and at least, one among the topics Physics and Chemistry as subjects.
(or)
(vi)The five years engineering degree course the candidates should have passed within the 1st year examination from the recognised university.
(or)
(vii)The candidate should have passed 1st or 2nd division within the pre-degree examination of the University of Kerala with arithmetic and at least, one of the topics Physics and Chemistry as subjects of the examination.

5. Physical Standards:
The candidates should be physically fit and according to physical standards for admission to Special class Railway Apprentices Examination.
