UPSC SCRA 2021: Application Form, Exam Dates, Eligibility, Pattern, Syllabus, Admit Card

UPSC SCRA 2021: The SCRA (Special Class Railway Apprentice) entrance examination, conducted by UPSC, shortlists the candidates for admission in an undergraduate program offered at Indian Railways Institute. This exam has been discontinued since 2015 and till now there’s no such information whether it’ll be conducted in 2021 or not.

UPSC SCRA 2021 Highlights:

Candidates before applying for the exam must ensure their eligibility criteria for admissions.
The application form, admit card, result, etc all are going to be released only in online mode.
There is no got to send a hard copy of the application form or any other document to the commission’s office.
Only the candidates who clear both the written test and also the test are going to be considered for admissions.
Final admission is going to be subject to verification of the document and fulfillment of eligibility criteria.

SCRA 2021 Eligibility Criteria:

Nationality:

Applying candidates should either be Citizen of India, Subject of Bhutan or Subject of Nepal, or
Tibetan refugee, who came to India before 1st January 1962 to settle permanently, or
Person of Indian Origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam to settle permanently

Age limit:

The age of the candidates should be between 17 to 21 years as on 1st January 2021.
A relaxation of three years in the upper age limit is going to be given to the OBC candidates and 5 years to SC/ ST/ Ex-servicemen candidates.

Educational qualification:

Candidates should have completed their class 12th or equivalent exam with Physics, Chemistry and arithmetic subjects.
The applicants should have scored a minimum of 45% marks in their qualifying exam to be eligible.
Those appearing in their class 12th exam also are eligible to apply.

UPSC SCRA 2021 Application Form:

The application form for the SCRA 2021 exam is going to be released on the official website of UPSC. Candidates, after ensuring that they meet the eligibility requirements, can fill and submit their application form in online mode.

The application form is often filled by the candidates by providing their basic details like name, gender, category, passing year, obtained marks, etc.
Candidates also will need to upload scanned copies of their signature and photograph within the form.
Application form with correct and complete details can then be submitted online.
Care must be taken to avoid any mistake within the application form as the incorrect application is going to be rejected summarily.
Along with the form, the candidates also will need to pay a specified amount of application fee.
Once submitted successfully, the candidates are advised to take a printout of the application form for future reference.

UPSC SCRA 2021 Application fee:

Candidates of the general/ OBC category will need to pay an application fee of Rs. 100/-.
SC/ ST/ PWD/ Female candidates are going to be exempted from payment of application fee.
The application fee payment is often done through online mode using debit card/ credit card/ net banking.

SCRA Exam Pattern 2021:

The overview of the SCRA 2021 exam pattern is given below:
Mode of exam: Online
Number of section: 2
Section A: English, Psychology and public knowledge
Section B: Mathematics and physics
Duration of exam: 2 hours (each section)
Total marks: 600

UPSC SCRA 2021 Admit Card:

The admit card to seem within the entrance test is going to be released on the official website of UPSC.
The candidates are going to be able to download the admit card using the registration details like application number, date of birth, etc.
After downloading, the candidates should take a printout of the admit card to be carried to the exam center.
The details of the exam center are going to be communicated to the candidates through admit card.
Admit card is an important document and must be preserved till the entire process of admission is over.

UPSC SCRA Result & Selection:

SCRA 2021 result is going to be announced in online mode and also the candidates can check it from the official website.
Candidates who score more than the prescribed cut-off are going to be considered as qualified.
Based on the marks obtained within the written exam, a merit list of the candidates is going to be prepared.
Shortlisted candidates are going to be invited to take part in the test.
Those reporting for the test must carry their original certificates as document verification also will be done on that day.
The applicants who clear the test and whose documents are verified successfully are going to be offered final admissions.
