(b) Details of MSP (Military Service Pay):

Officers within the rank of Lieutenant to brigadier are entitled to a Military Service Pay(MSP) of Rs. 15.500 p.m. (fixed).

(c) The stipend for Cadet Training:

Gentlemen and lady cadets are entitled to a stipend of Rs. 56,100/- per month during their complete training period in service academies i.e. during training period at OTA and IMA.

CDS Qualification Pay & Grant:

(a) Flying Allowance:

Pilots/ Army Aviators, serving within the Army Aviation Corps are entitled to a flying allowance as mentioned below:
For Lieutenant and above (i.e. Level ten and above): Rs 25,000/- p.m. (fixed).

  1. Allowances offered under CDS:

(a) Dearness Allowance:

It is the same as that applicable to the civilian personnel from time to time (same rate and beneath the same condition).

(b) Kit Maintenance Allowance:

It has currently been included with the newly introduced Dress allowance of Rs. 20,000/- per year.

(c) High Altitude Allowance:

(d) Siachen Allowance:

Siachen Allowance of Rs. 42,500/- per month is also offered.

(e) Uniform Allowance:

It has been included within the newly proposed Dress Allowance of Rs. 20,000/- per year.


(f) Transport Allowance (TPTA):

Following are the high TPTA cities:

Kolkata, Lucknow, Kanpur, Ghaziabad, Coimbatore, Chennai, Jaipur, Pune, Nagpur, greater Mumbai, Indore, Kozhikode, Kochi, Bengaluru, Surat, Ahmedabad, Delhi, Patna, Hyderabad.
In case the personnel has been provided with government transport, he won’t be eligible for this allowance.
Officials of Pay level 14 , who are entitled to use the official car might either take the official car facility or avail the transport allowance of Rs. 15,750+DA per month.

(g) Children Education Allowance (CEA):

This allowance is admissible from nursery to category twelfth and may be availed monthly at Rs. 2250/- per child for 2 children solely.

(h) The Sikkim government provides a cash incentive of Rs.1.5 lakhs to all the successful candidates of Sikkim for all the officer’s entry scheme.
