AFCAT 2023: Application Form (Released), Dates, Eligibility, Exam Pattern, Syllabus
AFCAT Admit Card 2023 has been released on 10th February 2023 through online mode. The selection of candidates for flying branch and ground duties in the Indian Air Force is going to be done based on the online exam, AFCAT 2023. The exam, conducted in online mode, is going to be followed by an AFSB test or interview. The final selection is going to be offered to the candidates based on combined performance in tests and interviews.
The exam is going to be held twice a year- in February and August and also the applications for the same are going to be released in December and June respectively. Interested and eligible candidates can submit their applications in online mode.

AFCAT 2023 Application Form:
The application form for AFCAT 2023 is going to be released in online mode. Interested candidates can fill their application by visiting the official website of Indian Air Force careerindianairforce.cdac.in or afcat.cdac.in.
The first step towards the application process is going to be candidates’ registration to get a login id and password.
To fill the registration form, the candidates will need to provide details like name, date of birth, email address, phone number, etc.
After successful registration, id and password are going to be received which will be used for further login for filling the application form.
The application form will require the subsequent details associated with the candidates- personal details, qualification details, course preference, communication details, and exam city selection.
Scanned copies of photograph, signature and thumb impression of the candidates should even be uploaded within the application form.
Once all the main points are entered successfully, the candidates can make form submission with the specified application fee.
AFCAT 2023 Application fee:
After filling in the online application form, the examination fee of Rs. 250/- (non-refundable) for AFCAT entry (not applicable for NCC special entry & Meteorology) may be paid online through the ‘Make Payment’ step on the main menu of the online application. No cash or cheque or demand draft (DD) will be accepted towards payment of examination fee. The examination fee can be paid using credit/ debit cards/ net banking through the payment gateway.
Applicants are advised to follow the instructions/ steps given on the payment gateway, and also print/keep the transaction details for their records. After confirmation from bank that the payment is received, the “Payment Status” will display “Registration Number” which the candidate may note down for future correspondence. Simultaneously, the candidate will receive a confirmatory sms/ e-mail. This will be followed by Admit Card (with the Hall Ticket Number) which a candidate will receive on his/her registered email ID and which is also downloadable from his/her registered email ID.
AFCAT 2023 Eligibility Criteria:
The candidate fulfilling the criteria must only apply for the examination.
Nationality: The candidate should be the citizen of India
Flying branch:
The candidate must have done graduation with aggregate 60% in any discipline with physics and maths in 10+2 level or BE / B Tech degree (Four-year course) from a recognized University
The age of the candidate should be less than 23 years.
Technical branch (ground duty):
The candidate must have done a four-year graduation course in engineering/technology.
Must obtain 60% marks in Section A & B examination of the Aeronautical Society of India or Associate Membership of Institute Engineers (India).
The age of the candidate must be between 18-28 years.
Non-technical (Ground duty):
The candidate must have done graduation in any discipline with 60% marks and in section A and B examination of aeronautical society India or Associate Membership of Institute Engineers (India).
The age of the candidate must be between 20-23years.
AFCAT 2023 Exam Pattern:
The overview of AFCAT exam pattern is given below:

AFCAT 2023 Syllabus:
The syllabus for AFCAT 2023 exam is given below as:
(b) Standard and Syllabus of the Examination:
(i) Syllabus.
(aa) English. Comprehension, Error Detection, Sentence Completion/ Filling in of correct word, Synonyms, Antonyms and Testing of Vocabulary, Idioms and Phrases.
(ab) General Awareness. History, Geography, Civics, Politics, Current Affairs, Environment, Basic Science, Defence, Art, Culture, Sports, etc.
(ac) Numerical Ability. Decimal Fraction, Time and Work, Average, Profit & Loss, Percentage, Ratio & Proportion and Simple Interest, Time & Distance (Trains/Boats & Streams).
(ad) Reasoning and Military Aptitude Test. Verbal Skills and Spatial Ability.
(ii)Standard. The standard of Numerical Ability Questions will be of Matriculation level. The standard of questions in other subjects will be of graduation level (Indian University).
(c)Practice Test. An online Practice Test (for AFCAT & EKT) is available on the IAF website https://careerindianairforce.cdac.in or https://afcat.cdac.in.
AFCAT 2023 Admit Card:
(i) The eligible candidates shall be issued with an e-Admit Card three weeks before the date of the examination. The e-Admit Card will be sent to the registered email IDs and will also be available at the website www.careerindianairforce.cdac.in for all candidates who successfully submitted their online application. No Admit Card will be sent by post. To download the e-Admit Card, a candidate should have his/her Username and Password. The candidate will be solely responsible for downloading his/ her e-Admit Card.
(ii) If the candidate does not receive his/her admit card in their registered email id or is not able to download the same from the mentioned website or if there is any error / discrepancy / anomaly in the e-admit card, he/she must inquire from AFCAT Query Cell at C-DAC, Pune immediately. (Phone Nos. 020-25503105 or 020-25503106). E-Mail queries may be addressed to [email protected] . No candidate will be allowed to appear in the examination unless he/ she holds a downloaded e-Admit Card for the examination.
(iii) The courses to which the candidates are admitted will be according to their eligibility as per age and educational qualifications and the course preferences given by them. The candidates should note that their admission to the examination will be purely provisional, based on the information given by them in the Application Form. On verification, in case the IAF finds that the information disclosed by the candidate is not correct or is false, his or her candidature will be treated as cancelled.
(iv) Candidates are to ensure that the personal information in the front side of the e-Admit card are as per the details provided by them during the registration process. They are also advised to read the instructions given at the rear of the e-Admit card beforehand.
(v) The decision of the IAF shall be final with regard to the acceptance of a candidate’s application, based on the given information.
AFCAT 2023 Result & Interview:
The AFCAT 2023 result is going to be announced on the official website and also the qualified candidates are going to be allowed to require part in the interview round.
A list of the shortlisted candidates is going to be prepared and such candidates are going to be called at one among the Air Force Selection Boards.
To generate the decision letter for the interview, the candidates will need to choose AFSB dates and venues by visiting the official website.
Candidates reporting for the interview should carry all the important documents with them for verification.
Based on their performance within the online test and AFSB test (interview), a final merit list of the candidates is going to be drawn for selection.

Allotment of Centres.
As far as possible, candidates will be allotted centres as per their choice. Candidates should note that no request for change of centre/ date/ slot will be entertained. Therefore candidates should exercise due care before deciding date/ slot of his/ her choice for the centre for the examination before filling the form. In case of any eventuality, the AFCAT exam centres may be cancelled. In this scenario alternate centres would be provided to the affected candidates. No representation would be entertained in this regard and decision of the IAF would be final.
